Support Our Mission

Ways I express my gratitude to God and share in the good work of His Church  button

Sunday Giving: Would you consider increasing your Sunday gift by $5?  Most of us give the same amount in the envelop week after week, year after year (even decade after decade!).  Make even a modest increase in your regular Sunday offering.  God will bless your sacrifice!  An easy way to get into the routine of sacrificial giving is to make your gift electronically through our secure website.  Click the link on this page to set-up recurring Sunday giving or to give to any of our other parish needs.

Estate Planning: Include your parish family in your will.  One smart rule of thumb is to consider your parish as one of your children – if you have four kids, divide your estate in fifths.  Leave one fifth to each child and an equal share to your parish.  A few large estates made Sacred Heart and St. Joseph so beautiful and small estates keeps St. Bernard going!  Email Julie in our diocesan stewardship office for more information: Jenzenberger@cdop.org

Building Funds: We are blessed with the most beautiful churches in Peoria! These beautiful churches, as well as our other parish buildings need up keep and will require us to plan now for major improvements that will inevitably be needed.  (Our trustees are engaged in a significant study of St. Joseph’s 138-year old roof – more info to come soon!). Both St. Bernard and Sacred Heart/St. Joseph regularly take up a Building Fund collection. Click on the donate button on this page, select the parish,  and enter “building fund” in the memo line.

Education of our Youth: We all share a common commitment to bring the Good News to the next generation.  Your gifts to our monthly education collections at St. Bernard and the Cathedral help to provide CCD programs, youth ministry, tuition assistance for our Catholic school families, and our parishes’ assessments to Peoria Notre Dame High School. Click on the donate button, select the parish, and enter “education” in the memo line.

Sophia’s Kitchen: The ministry to feed body and soul at “the kitchen” is our parishes’ primary Respect Life apostolate and social justice outreach.  Your gift of time and treasure directly feeds our hungry brothers and sisters in our own city.  Some give by serving.  Others serve by giving. Remember Sophia’s Kitchen on Pantry Sunday every month, in our collections for the needy, and in your estate planning.
